Attended a nice military ceremony this past weekend in Delaware— now I’m sick…

My lady and I spent a weekend in New Jersey and Delaware to visit some friends of hers as well as to celebrate a former military colleague’s promotion to CW5 (Chief Warrant Officer) of the Army.

Although we missed the actual ceremony due to flight delays in La Guardia and other transportation impediments, we still sought it important to meet with her for her after party at Cigar Sessions in Delaware this past Saturday night.

I wish I would’ve taken a pic or two while I was there to show you the place, specifically their humidors. But when you get caught up in candid conversations with people there, you tend to forget about those things. Please don’t misconstrue that previous statement as a justification, though. I’m a cigar brand, after all, so I would need to be on top of this.

I’m sorry and I will be better about this, family.

The cigars I chose

Cigar: The Tabernacle Esteli-Nicaragua

Now this was a pretty smooth, dark and decadent Connecticut broadleaf with a smoke-load of cocoa right from the initial lighting of the cigar. I grabbed the thin and long full-body version as well as the thicker and shorter full-body version of the cigar because I knew I would like it from the moment I smelled the cigar. As you can probably tell, I’m into more “earthy” cigars. My palette yearns for it lol.

Cigar: My Father No.3 Crema

Another Nicaraguan favorite, if you pay close attention, you’ll catch a glimpse of hickory during the pre-light draw. Along with the almond paste that insulates the cigar, I was able to catch the earthy spice that I like from start to finish. You just can’t go wrong with the coffee, cocoa, rich woods, and earth spices type of cigars. If you drink Bourbon, particularly Woodford Reserve, you’ll undoubtedly enjoy those flavors of cigars. Even if you don’t drink alcohol, like myself, a good peanut butter smoothie with mixed berries would suffice with those types of cigars.

Well, today I’ll begin working on a cloud project to eventually pitch to cigar companies as well as getting prepared for my AWS retest exam that’ll take place in another week.
